Emergency Contraception
Although the term "Emergency Contraception" is widely used to market The Morning After Pill, there are at least two very common scenarios where using the chemical will not lead to a contraceptive result. In fact, the effects of The Morning After Pill can range from no affect whatsoever, to a self-inflicted, early-term chemical abortion.
If you do not believe in abortion, you should not use The Morning After Pill.
How the Morning After Pill Works
The effect the Morning After Pill has on a woman depends on whether she has already conceived. For example; If the sperm from the male has already fertilized the egg of the female, but the newly formed life has not yet attached to the uterine wall where it will continue growing until birth, the Morning After Pill will seek to prevent the new life from attaching by creating a chemical imbalance in the woman’s body. If successful, the baby will die. This is an early-term chemical abortion and is a primary goal of Morning After Pill users. If however, the baby has already attached to the uterine wall, the woman will remain pregnant. The continuing effect of the Morning After Pill in this scenario is not fully known. The third possibility is that the Morning After Pill creates an environment in the woman where the sperm cannot fertilize the egg, preventing pregnancy from occurring. The likelihood of this outcome is also unknown. In any event, before using the Morning After Pill, you should take a pregnancy test.
